Merry Christmas from Me to You

I made it home to Waterloo where I will be spending Christmas and some much needed R&R with my family. I will be back in the New Year, but I wanted to take this time to wish the happiest of Holidays to you and your family. Thank you so much for following along my journey and for making this year such a success. I am so grateful for each and every one of you!  May God Bless you and shine in your hearts this joyous season.
(And yes, I know I overdid it with the tinsel on my little tree, but I kind of love it!).

Merry Christmas, my loves.

Christmas eve eve...

It is really here and I am finally all the way ready... I think..

Just a bit of shopping for all of the baking that we have planned and a little bit of shipping and off we go.  I am not sure how much time I will have to visit the blog over the next few days so I wanted to make sure that I wish you a very happy and wonderful holiday!  I hope you have time to spend with everyone you hold dear!

Merry Christmas eve eve!

Oh (Flocked) Christmas Tree

I will be the first to admit I have never seen one of these in person, but I'm really smitten with the look of the snow on the branches. It seems a white Christmas isn't the norm anymore (dreaming of one this year of course! It's looking promising after the snowstorm we got this weekend), but this could be a fun way to ensure a snowy Christmas morning opening gifts. Would you do a flocked tree?

greige christmas.. 2013

Every year I try and change it up a little bit around the house for the holidays..  I was going through some of my previous posts and found that there have been subtle changes.. maybe next year I really need to switch it up.  This time around I added more antlers and kept it pretty simple.  We typically have two trees but opted for just one very round one this year and did not put out most of the decorations... simple simple simple...

I hope you are enjoying your holiday season and decorations...  All the best from us here!

Bar Cart Art: Perfect Prints to Hang over your Bar

Holiday season is upon us - time to start planning for fabulous parties with lots of sequins and of course flowing drinks. Is your bar cart in order? If you are me, the answer is no...no it is not. But let's pretend it is styled with pretty champagne flutes (THESE are on my wishlist..please Santa?), striped straws, and a well stocked selection of liquor. All that's left is the blank wall space above. This calls for a round up of perfect prints for the party girl in all of us:
1 / 2 / 3 / 4 / 5 /6
I think these are so sassy and fun. If the holiday bash isn't at your place this year, wouldn't one of these make the perfect hostess gift? Bonus: Each print is under $30.
My heart belongs to the black and white Chanel one, it would go perfectly in my place....Santa, are you still reading?

Christmas table...

Living in California at Christmastime can be such a gift.  We are often able to spend the day in the sunshine outside with family.  I don't know that I have ever had a white Christmas and who knows if I ever will, that's okay with me for now.  I saw this beautiful table setting and I fell in love with it and how simply beautiful it was.
Wishing you and yours a very wonderful holiday!

Simply Christmas and thank you...

I always wonder if I could do a simple clean Christmas?  I love this look, easy going and relaxed not to flashy and just the right amount of sweet.  I fell for this image on Dreamy Whites.. her whole house is this perfect!   You should check it out!

I also wanted to say Thank You to all of the wonderful shops that participated in our Holiday Giving Series this year!!  It was a pleasure having you!

just a little bit..

Oh my goodness we are in the final stretch here it seems.  Christmas is so close!  I finally got the house lightly decorated before my guests arrived on Saturday.  It is a little different from last year and fit my mood perfectly.  The lighting was a little off yesterday due to the rain so I am hoping for sun and I can show you something a little nicer.  These are just a few little bits and pieces.

On Sunday I went to the flea market in Long Beach and picked up a few little goodies including some pillows to finish off the living room.. Love vintage textiles!
Wishing you a lovely Monday of madness and rushing around before the holiday!

peppermint bark..

I have been waiting all week to make some peppermint bark...  I saw this from Sweet Paul and needed to give it a whirl.  We are having friends over for a cookie decorating party so I somehow have to get the house decorated {then clean up}, make dinner for 8 and actually be dressed before they arrive.. should be interesting.  But in the morning first thing I think I will make a little sweet treat!

There are several variations on the theme but I am going to go simple and keep it straight forward.   Maybe next time we will try out the pretzel sticks...

all of the recipes are in the links..

glitter....

I have to admit I have a weakness for a little Christmas sparkle and glitter.  This is our tree from last year - I am not sure what kind of changes I want to make this year but here are a few of the newest editions that I did pick up.  I love the stags and the little glittery house in the globe.
Do you stick with the same holiday decorations or do you change it up each year?
We have a made a step forward though - we picked up our trees yesterday - I love the smell of the fresh tree so perfectly Christmas.
