Business Cards & Guest Post

This Saturday is Blogpodium. I'm so excited, and also a little bit nervous. This will be my first blogging conference and I can't wait to finally meet so many of my local blogging friends here in Toronto (not to mention hear all the great speakers including Sarah Richardson and my girl Steph).

One 'must' for every blogger is a well designed business card. I made the careful decision to custom design my own using photoshop and have them printed. I love how they turned out! The little watercolor zebra I painted is my favourite touch.
I spy me in one of these pictures...can you spot it? Amateur hour over here. Also, you can see that I started to gold leaf the edges for an extra touch, but my beloved gold leaf pen ran out of ink. I will have to get another one. I also used my gold leaf pen to add the leopard sports to the little lucite tray that I'm using to display my business cards, which you can read more about here.

Speaking of girls I'm dying to meet at Blogpodium, Sweet Elyse from Peonies and Brass is going to be there and I just so happen to be blogging over at her site today about my favourite furniture hack.
Do you have an guesses what it is? Head on over to find out!
Will I be seeing any more of you on Saturday? I hope so loves.

Watercolor Wednesday: My Coffee Table

This week, I was inspired by my very own space! I think it's because I can't get enough of my new zebra. He is too perfect. Enjoy xo

Neutral Nurseries

We are used to seeing nurseries with lots of colour - afterall, it is good for baby's stimulation. But lately I've been inspired by neutral nurseries - meaning gender neutral AND colour neutral. Baby's toys are colorful enough, why not let the space be calm and relaxing?
From the images below, you will see that neutral nurseries create a classic, timeless feel:

And of course this roundup wouldn't be complete without a shout out to my blog crush Christine and the beautiful nursery she created for her son, Jasper. (It's featured in this month's Style at Home)!

I'm over at Baby Cafe today with my own neutral nursery moodboard!
Head on over to Baby Cafe for the sources and styling tips!

Would you consider going neutral in the nursery?

My Lazy Zebra

Sometimes you can experience a happy accident while antiquing, and stumble upon something you didn't even know you were looking for! This happened to me yesterday. I was in Waterloo for the day and decided to hit up my favourite antique mall after running my errands.
I went into a booth I almost never glance at because it's filled mostly with toys -  and wam, bam, thank you maam I saw and fell in love with the cutest little ceramic zebra for $7! He came home with me and is providing a happy update to my coffee table styling:

I've rounded up some more zebra figurine inspiration (serious eye candy):

Steal the Look: Animal Print Pillows

Animal print is so in right now, and some people really know how to use it.
My jaw literally dropped when I saw this image last week:

Gorgeous Right? But a leopard chair might not be for everyone (even though it should be...).
A great alternative would be to get a leopard print pillow, which is less of a commitment and definitely more affordable.

These bolster pillows have a similar toned print to the upholstered chair, which is more subtle than the traditional bold gold and black. It reads as a neutral. Why not reverse the image above and throw these on a coral chair! (Wait...what do you mean the hubby wouldn't approve of a coral chair either!?).

I just adore this room by Gary Riggs. The combination of teal and purple and gold is rich and jewel-y. The most unexpected thing in this room for me is the zebra striped pillow, which adds a hit of darkness and bold pattern to a more traditional space.

This lumbar pillow has the same chunky stripe as the room above! Love that.

Are you a fan of animal print?
