weekend wishes....

 

It's the weekend again!!!  Aren't you excited?  I cannot wait to take it a little easier and get to my fall cleaning.. I know it is similar to spring cleaning but I really feel the need to simplify and complete projects right now.  Maybe it is mental preparation for the upcoming holidays, I am not sure, but I want to clean everything out and eliminate the excess in my life.  

A few things that are inspiring me this week...

I keep moving these around the house while I decorate for fall..

Natural beauty

 

I love that depth can be created with texture and interesting objects.  This is a perfect example and I love that marble cocktail table.  Eclectic and simple at the same time.

Palm Springs inspiration.

 

Yesterday I took a quick trip out to Palm Springs to look at a property that I will be working on.  I can honestly say that even though it is just over an hour away from me I have only been to Palm Springs a handful of times.  I am not sure why exactly why that is but I think I might be visiting a little more often, not just for work.  

Once I arrived back at the office I wanted to keep the inspiration going so I pulled some ideas for the exteriors and interiors... here is what I was thinking... natural wood horizontal fencing, dark stained or painted paneled doors, vein cut marble floors, slab counter tops, wall hung cabinets and mod lighting.  I love getting excited about work!

Casual Lux..

 

As the days grow warmer and longer and we start to dip our toes into summer I long for clean casual luxuries..  Fresh greenery, fresh from the farmers market fruits and berries, time worn linens and a mix of old and new.  It gives me a feeling of freedom and getting lost in the days where our schedule is less restricting and scheduled.

Looking forward to beach days, pool days, lazy reading days and little spritzings of work in between the fun with family and friends.

Dramatic dining..

 

I love the simple drama of this space.  The blank chalk board makes such a contrast from what we might normally see when they are used in decor.  The chairs and the chandelier are by far my favorite part of the otherwise simple space.
