It's like this, folks. When you come across a new store on the block like Project Bly, you don't just pass by. You stop. You get intrigued. You dive in. You see there is pretty stuff there. Sinfully pretty infact. And you see that there is a lot of talk about travel. About traveling to Bombay and to La Paz, Bolivia. And to places like Kumasi, Bukhara and Malacca. That's it. You are hooked. You want to travel with these people who run this new store on the block. You want to read their stories and you want to get all this pretty stuff for yourself. It's like this, folks. Fashion Inspiration

For Interiors!

Lately, I have been drawing a lot of inspiration from creatively styled fashion shoots and images, especially the ones that are inspired by or influenced by India. The vivid colors, textures, textiles and jewelry, the locations, the mood, the style - all put together is very evocative of a potential interior space; a room done just so that it pulls together all these varied elements and translates a brilliant fashion photo shoot into a beautiful room. I chanced upon this fabulous blog and have been ooh-aahing over the lovely fashion inspiration. Take a look at these gorgeous India inspired fashion images, close your eyes, and tell me if you can visualize a similarly inspired room too...

Burnt orange, gold, beige and plum - reminds of me the rich decor and styling for festivals like Diwali :)

Design Hotels Ahoy!

San Giorgio Mykonos is one of the projects of Design Hotels, a company that represents and curates select independent hotels across the world. What caught my eye when I looked at San Giorgio Mykonos was the exquisite simplicity of it's interiors. The charm of white offset by a colorful rug, pillows and cushions, the very put-together-on-the-site kind of furniture, an earthy organic feel to the place, and of course, a certain ethnic influence seen in the furnishing and the decor - made it impossible for me to resist sharing this lovely little place with you. I would have loved to recreate this look in my home, if only I wasn't living in a dust bowl of a city! My interior aspirations aside, this style and look is one of the easiest ways to incorporate a global influence in home interiors.
