Cottage Love # 11 - Boho Style

I thought I would share a little pick me up on this wintry day. Most of the East coast is receiving snow and/or rain today. Boo...A little color goes a long way in cheering me up.

I'm digging the Bohemian vibe of Whitney's home (and her fabulous locks and wardrobe). She and her fiance blended their goods and created a place with a layered, lived in look!

I ADORE this wallpaper. I think I need to sneak it into my home. In any case I grabbed a sample of it for a client too!!!

Cottage Love #10

I love the holiday season almost as much as I adore stylish cottage style homes. As you know I've been trying to pull my new home together on a realistic budget. It is getting there but I still have quite a long check list of items to purchase and design ideas to try! My goal is to create a chic but livable home for my family.

I picked up a copy of December's BHG to read on my flight to Chicago last week.  Welcoming, warm homes are right up my alley at this point in my life. I was drawn to this house, the holiday decorations and the easy going lifestyle featured.

Summer lovin....

Wow, is it really almost September?
I'm not sure where August went or the past six years for that matter. It's crazy how fast the time goes when you start measuring the years by your child's age. My son begins kindergarten next week, it seem like yesterday I was celebrating his first birthday! (sniff, sniff)

I thought I'd share one last cottage styled beach house with you before August comes to an end. I'm loving the organic quality of this design, especially the fresh white walls and the colorful, bohemian feeling rugs!!

Cottage Love #8 + thoughts on home

I've decided to designate Monday's post to my "thoughts on home" series. Today I've combined the cottage love post (another well received series) with the "thoughts on home".

 

I've shared with you in the past my love of the California cottage style. I'm surely going to add some bohemain luxe to my new place. (think white walls, worn tibetan rugs, modern and vintage elements combined etc.)

Cottage Love #9

Not much makes this girl happier than the warm weather!! After a loooooong winter, it's finally getting nice in Boston. Beach cottage season is on the way and though I don't own a summer home, I thoroughly enjoy the benefits of living in a town on the water. 
I was reading Coastal Living over the weekend and came across the beautiful Amagansett, N.Y. cottage of Christiane Lemieux. She and her husband run  DwellStudio, the popular textile and furniture company.  I adore the ease and simplicity of this sweet home. When you live on the water, fussiness just doesn't make sense!
